I was treating this as a training run three weeks out from Ray Miller 50 mile.  The first 8 miles were great. Then a few hiccups and a wrong direction from an aid station threw off my race (big time). I recovered the missed ground, but not my momentum. But in good company over beautiful trails, under a hot sun, I dragged my beaten spirit across the finish. Also, the telephone pole, long ascent on the way back… ouch… Got to actually let my legs recover now for 50 miles to be a possibility in three weeks.
